Scott R. Jensen is a licensed professional engineer, cartoonist, and author of various fiction and non-fiction works. He is the creator of the comic strip “Entropytopia,” which has been acclaimed as “one of the best comic strips for professionals since…ever.” Over the years, his fantasy and science fiction writing has received several awards, including Honorable Mention and Silver Honorable Mention in L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest. His non-fiction writing is also excellent, but extremely boring; if you’re not being forced to read it professionally, you’re probably not interested.
Scott was born and raised in Payson, Utah. After graduating from high school, he accepted an incredible opportunity to live in Colombia, South America, where he met and worked alongside many of the kindest and most genuine people this world has to offer. Two years later, Scott returned to the United States and earned a B.S. from Brigham Young University and an M.S. from Utah State University, both in Mechanical Engineering. His twenty years of engineering experience include design and analysis of satellite control systems, design of nuclear waste processing equipment, nuclear facility design, and fire protection engineering for nuclear facilities.
Scott and his amazing wife currently live in Southeastern Idaho. Two of his children have moved on to bigger and better things (Scott finds himself ridiculously proud of everything they do). His two younger children–who also give him endless reasons to brag–still live at home. Scott threatens the dog regularly with all sorts of terrible things, but no one believes him–least of all the dog. We enjoy hiking, camping, spelunking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and ridiculously long walks (50k+).
